The Foresters difference

At Foresters Financial we help everyday families achieve their long-term financial goals. But we’re more than an international financial services provider. Through our heritage as a fraternal benefit society, we have a global network of members that is more than two million strong. Members enjoy unique member benefits¹ including competitive academic scholarships, financial counselling and discounted legal services as well as opportunities to give back through volunteering opportunities.

In 2018 alone, Foresters invested more than £469 million2 in claims and member benefits including £1.38 million in competitive scholarships for students in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. We also provided over £2.88 million towards community initiatives such as Care Package, Community Beautification, Create & Construct, Meal Help, Volunteer Support, and Fun Family events where our members can spend quality time with their families at no cost.

From our start over 140 years ago, we have helped families build financial security, help each other and make a difference in their communities. Almost a century-and-a-half later, this commitment still sets us apart. We’re not another faceless financial institution. We stand for something more.

Well being benefits – Helping to enhance your life

From your family to your future, Foresters has you covered. As part of our fraternal purpose, we offer our members a wide range of unique and complimentary benefits1. It’s just one of the many ways we share our financial success with our members. You know we are here to support you when you need it mos.

Emergency Assistance Programme

An emergency can strike anytime. Our emergency grants provide short term, temporary financial aid to members affected by significant personal hardship or natural disaster.3

Everyday Money

We previously offered an advice line to help in times of trouble, providing legal advice, debt counselling and home emergencies, as well as Bereavement advice. This service received little take up and as a result the vendor has withdrawn their services. We are currently investigating other possible alternatives, and apologise for any inconvenience.

National Charitable Partnerships – Doing more in local communities

We’re proud to support charities that share in the commitment of what our purpose stands for, allowing us to do more in the local communities where our members live. Members can get involved with the great work that our National Charitable Partnerships are doing by either volunteering for an activity or submitting an application through our Foresters Community Grants Programme to host their own activity. Foresters Community Grants Programme – Giving families time to relax and reconnect

One of the more popular benefits offered to our members allows members to access funds to organise and host their own local community volunteer activities and fun family events, through our annual investment of over £2.88 million2 to support the Foresters Community Grants Programme. Learn more

Another benefit of the Foresters Community Grants Programme is that it offers members special access to hands-on volunteer activities and complimentary events, including movie nights, amusement parks, sporting events, hands-on volunteering and other fun and family-friendly events. Get inspired

Foresters Competitive Scholarship Programme - Investing in our future

We believe that education and community are important. That’s why we award almost £2 million per year in renewable tuition competitive scholarships to members or their family members. The scholarship selections are based on factors that include good grades and community volunteer involvement and are available to eligible students pursuing post-secondary education at a university, community college or trade programme. Member Governance - Developing leaders with our membership

Working within our 50 Branches, the elected Branch Councillors provide strong local leadership, helping to guide and support our impact in members’ communities. By participating in your local Branch, you can:

  • Develop valuable leadership skills for your personal life or career
  • Connect with fellow members who share your passion for community volunteerism
  • Be inspired by world-class speakers at our annual 3-day Leadership Development Conference, where Foresters takes its elected members to a destination to participate in and experience
  • Take part in a rewarding volunteer experience with a low time commitment

Looking for something bigger? Our elected Regional Councillors focus on the long-term strategic direction of Foresters member network. You will help shape programs that enrich a member’s experience and participate in development opportunities like skill-building workshops and expert talks. Learn more
