Ongoing financial strength

Choosing Foresters Financial™ for your life insurance needs means benefiting from over 150 years of financial strength and stability. We understand that the well-being of your family couldn’t be more important; that’s why we take the upkeep of our financial strength seriously. It is the reason families put their trust in us.

The US branch of the Independent Order of Foresters (IOF) has a Risk-Based Capital (RBC) ratio of 541%, exceeding the guidelines developed by The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) to make sure insurers set minimum levels of capital to support their business.

IOF’s financial strength, as measured by A.M. Best Company, is rated “A” (Excellent) and has been for the past 25 years. The A.M. Best ratings reflect the overall strength and claims-paying ability of IOF but does not apply to the performance of any non-IOF issued product. An “A” (Excellent) rating is assigned to companies that have a strong ability to meet their ongoing obligations to policyholders and have, on balance, excellent balance sheet strength, operating performance and business profile when compared to the standards established by A.M. Best Company. In assigning our ratings on October 10, 2025, A.M. Best stated that the rating outlook is “stable”, which means it is unlikely to change in the near future, assuming our financial strength is maintained and our operations grow.

In addition, DBRS Morningstar, the world’s fourth-largest credit ratings agency, has also confirmed IOF’s “A” Financial Strength Rating and Issuer Rating.1
