Biography

Linda J. Seymour
Linda was appointed Group General Manager, President and CEO of HSBC in September 2020. As CEO, she oversaw the successful sale to RBC in 2024. She also served as the Chair of the Board of HSBC Asset Management (Canada) Limited.
She joined HSBC as graduate trainee and held multiple progressively senior roles during her 35-years, including Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking for Canada and Senior Vice President. During her tenure, she helped establish a diverse organization that sought to put its customers at the heart of every decision.
Linda has been active in the community as a member of the Business Council of Canada and British Columbia. She is a former member of the Faculty Advisory Board of UBC Sauder School of Business and former Director for ProAction Cops & Kids and West Park Healthcare Foundation. Linda earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and has completed INSEAD’s High Impact Leadership Program.
She was named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women in 2015 and, in 2021, she received a Women in Capital Markets Champions of Change Award.
Linda has been a member of Foresters Board since 2025; she is currently a member of the Board’s Audit and Compliance and Human Capital and Governance Committees.
