What making a difference looks like

What does it mean to be part of a community? For Foresters Financial, it means building a relationship with our members because we believe you deserve more than just a financial services provider. We believe that community matters. Meet the everyday families who share our values and our commitment to making a difference.

Farm to table

When Sun Youth planted an idea with Foresters, it quickly grew beyond expectations. Food bank recipients now enjoy fresh produce from the community garden thanks to volunteers who aren’t afraid to get a little dirty.

Helping the homeless

The first Foresters Community Grant event that Branch Councillor Carys organised was for a cause dear to her heart. Working with YMCA to help get people off the streets.

What some of our members have to say...

"It was so lovely to see my young daughter volunteering with a cleaning cloth in one hand, playing with the interactive museum exhibits, laughing and enjoying herself at the same time."

"I think its great that Foresters organise activities that are so inclusive. I'm so happy to have joined Foresters, my family and community have benefited from it in so many ways."

"I had a client in the garden this morning and oh my goodness what a difference! He’s a young lad who suffers with PTSD and the garden was a massive resource for him. Thank you so so much."

The amazingly small heroes

Princesses and superheroes in the children’s hospital? No need to get your eyes checked, it’s Foresters Competitive Scholarship winner Ashtyn Shaw and her volunteer squad of Amazingly Small Heroes.

We’ll always be neighbours

When times get tough, we rely on the people around us to lift us up. Foresters Financial and community volunteers did just that by preparing a meal for their neighbours in need.

Working with others to make a difference

At Foresters Financial we take responsibility for helping our members, their families and their communities to do more. Helping us to uphold that responsibility are charities that both share in our commitment and are aligned with our Purpose to improve wellbeing.

Through our Partnerships, we give our members many easy opportunities to volunteer in their community through the Foresters Community Grants programme connect with the charities beneficiaries and make an impact to people’s lives.1

You can support a National Charitable Partner in your local community by registering to volunteer at an activity benefiting our partner listed below. Or choose to organise a Community Volunteer grant and apply for up to £2,000 towards your activity.

Who do we work with?

Cash for Kids

In 2010, Foresters Financial developed a National Partnership with Cash for Kids, through sponsorship of the Mission Christmas campaign.

Cash for Kids is Bauer Media’s UK Charity with regional teams in 21 locations across the UK. Their mission is to respond to the needs of children and young people in the communities they represent facing disadvantage, whether that’s through illness, additional support needs, poverty or neglect. They aspire to enable all children to live life to the fullest and to achieve their individual potential.

Cash for Kids works with thousands of grass root organisations across the UK that support the children that need it most, whilst accepting direct requests from families for additional help through our regular grant rounds.

Mission Christmas is the biggest toy appeal in the UK, supporting children living in poverty who are not expecting a visit from Santa. Foresters and Cash for Kids (CFK) work together year after year to support raising donations and provide wrapped gifts to local children and young people who are affected by poverty, abuse or neglect, have additional needs, or simply need extra care or guidance.

Foresters is proud to provide our members hands-on volunteering opportunities throughout the UK to support this worthy cause and experience first-hand the impact in their local communities. Foresters has been a key partner supporting Cash for Kids’ mission and helping the charity raise over £104,519,065 helping 2,656,195 children throughout our partnership.

Support Cash for Kids by organising your own Care Package activity and applying for a Community Volunteer Grant, login to MyForesters to apply for a grant.
