Marcia Mendes-d'Abreu

Marcia Mendes-d’Abreu joined Foresters Financial^TM as the Global Chief Human Resources Officer in January 2019. As a member of the Executive Committee, she provides leadership and oversight of the HR function in developing and implementing talent strategies that enable the organization to meet its strategic, operational, cultural and transformational objectives. Marcia has amassed over 25 years of human resources experience across multiple industries, most recently heading up the HR team at the Independent Electricity System Operator and HR and Facilities at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. She also held senior roles at GlaxoSmithKline, Cisco Systems, and Canadian Tire. Marcia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Relations from McGill University, and a Master of Science in Organizational Development from Pepperdine University. She attained her Human Resources and Compensation Committee Certificate (H.R.C.C.C.) from McMaster University. Marcia is currently a board member and the HR Committee Chair for Markham Stouffville Hospital. She has been co-Chair for the Toronto CHRO Leadership Summit since 2012.
