Janice Madon

Janice Madon brings extensive global experience in financial services, including insurance, banking, wealth and asset management. She is a Senior Advisor to Brookfield Asset Management and sits on the Board of Appleby College.

Janice spent 12 years in senior leadership roles at Manulife Financial, including as Global Chief Accountant and Global Chief Auditor. Most recently, from 2014 to 2019, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Manulife Canada, with responsibility for all aspects of Manulife Canada Finance, including financial reporting, controls, tax, capital, risk management, strategic business analysis and transformation improvements. Working together with the CEO and partnering with business leaders across the company, she drove improved business performance, while leading and developing 500 Finance and Actuarial professionals. As Executive Sponsor for Women at Manulife, she brought together women and men to promote the advancement of women at a personal and professional level.

Prior to this, she spent nine years in leadership roles at Royal Bank of Canada, heading Global Financial Reporting, Corporate Real Estate Strategy and providing Finance support for businesses in Retail banking, Real Estate and Business Development. She began her career with EY.

Janice is a CA, CPA and holds an MBA from the University of Toronto – Rotman School of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce Hotel and Food Administration from the University of Guelph.

Janice has been a member of Foresters Board since 2021; she currently serves on the Board’s Audit and Compliance, Risk and Investment and Fraternal Committees.
