Covered illness and procedures
The Lifecare benefit is payable as a one-time, lump sum if the insured is diagnosed with one of the following illnesses or procedures:
Coronary artery bypass surgery
Major organ transplant
Heart valve replacement
Loss of speech
Loss of limbs
Motor Neuron Disease
Occupational HIV Infection
Loss of independent existence as defined and specified in the policy
LifeCare T10 may be converted to LifeCare T75 any time after the sixth policy anniversary and before the insured turns age 65.
Return of premium on death
If the insured does not survive the occurrence of a critical illness for a period as defined in the policy, or if the insured dies of another cause, a benefit will be paid equal to 100% of the premiums paid excluding rider premiums and policy fees.
Expert Medical Opinion Program
The insured person may be eligible, at no additional cost, to access Advance Medical’s Expert Medical Opinion Program.3
The insured person’s spouse or domestic partner and the insured’s dependent children up to age 18 may also be eligible. This program provides an authoritative second opinion on medical issues from some of the world’s leading experts.
