As a member-based organization, Foresters has local Branch Councils led by member leaders, also called Branch Councillors, across Canada, the US and the UK. These Branches make up our Member Network, which works to support communities and help improve our organization.
Member leaders make a positive impact through their Branches. They rally people around important causes with grants, roll up their sleeves to support local volunteer activities, develop new lifelong skills and meet new people from all walks of life. Member leaders can also make a lasting impact at Foresters! They can help shape our organization by providing valuable feedback on the membership experience and so much more. The opportunity to become a member leader comes up every two years. Your next opportunity is scheduled for Spring of 2027. Keep an eye out for Foresters orientation events and more details on upcoming member leader elections!

Real stories from real people
Supporting the big dreams of our students
Lorisa X. was one of 520 passionate students who earned a Foresters Competitive Scholarship in 2025. She’s a third-year student in Immunology and Infections at a Canadian university, with dreams of becoming a veterinarian.
Lorisa traveled abroad with VAW Global Health Alliance to help deliver veterinary care to families and animals in need. When she got back home, Lorisa started a club at her university to host fundraisers and organize veterinarian internships around the world for her fellow students.
Building bikes for deserving children
In June 2025, Foresters member leaders and Odyssey Teams came together to build bikes for kids in the community of Arlington, Texas. The event took place during our 44th International Assembly and Leadership Development Conference and was an inspiring success with 100 new bikes assembled for the children.
When the activity was over, the doors opened unexpectedly, and 100 children from two local schools walked in to enjoy their new bikes along with a helmet and lock.
Spreading a little care
Over 4,000 Foresters Care grants were used by our members in 2025. One of those was by Denis D. in the UK. He decided that he wanted to make a difference during the Christmas season.
Using his two grants, Denis assembled over 40 bags of food for families in need. These bags helped provide people with full meals and added to a season filled with joy and compassion for others.
