Volunteerism isn’t new to us – it is who we are.
In 2017, our first year participating in the OneWalk to Conquer Cancer, Foresters had 23 walkers and we raised over $72,000. In our second year, 2018, the numbers rose, and we had 34 walkers and raised over $107,000. This year we had 85 walkers, which was a 1st place win for the greatest number of team registration in a given period, and through donations and fundraising events, we raised over $140,000!
The kick-off was on Friday September 6th where over 66 walkers took to the streets of Toronto at the City Nights 15 km walk, followed by a reception at the Liberty Grand. The next morning on Saturday September 7, over 25 walkers boarded a chartered bus at 7AM for a walk through the hiking trails and woodlands at the Boyd Conservation Park in Kleinburg, followed by a celebration.
We are proud of the many amazing people who chose to step-up and register to walk, participate in fundraising events and help support the Foresters Footsteps team at the 2019 OneWalk to Conquer Cancer events.
This is Strength of Purpose to change and improve the world through the power of helping.
