Benefits of Membership
At Foresters, we believe a good education gives people a head start in life and is the key to future success. Foresters is providing even more members with the opportunity to pursue higher learning with our financial support. We’ve increased the number of Competitive Scholarships available from 320 to 350 to eligible members and their dependent children. It’s one more way we help our members enjoy a bright future!

You may receive up to $8,000 to cover expenses related to post-secondary education!

Every year, applications are accepted from September through November. If you, your spouse or your child will be receiving post-secondary education at a university, vocational college or trade school, we hope you take advantage of our Competitive Scholarship Program*. It’s an exclusive benefit we offer to eligible Foresters members because we believe that when one person has a bright future, so does a whole community! Please review our scholarship guidelines to learn more about eligibility so that you or the student in your family is prepared to apply.

Foresters has a longstanding commitment to help its members, their families and the communities in which they live. Our scholarship program is a wonderful example of how we can assist students who take part in activities that enrich their communities. In fact, recent changes to the program’s eligibility requirements open it up to a greater number of students who share this dedication to community involvement.

Foresters provides the special Ken Peterson Award for Community Leadership in the amount of $5000 in the first academic year ($2000 per year thereafter) to applicants who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and extraordinary effort and ability to overcome adversity. Effective September 1, 2008 and starting with the 2009-2010 academic year, five (up from two) Ken Peterson Awards will be available annually.

Note that if approved, a student must use the scholarship for the academic year of the award. A scholarship (new or renewal) cannot be deferred.

If you or your child is planning on attending university or college for the first time, or resuming your undergraduate degree, do not miss out on this opportunity to Get More from your Foresters Membership.
