Service of Legal Process

Foresters^™ is required, by statute, to appoint a designated agent for service of legal process in each jurisdiction where it does business. This designated individual or entity is authorized to accept service of legal documents that may initiate or relate to a legal action involving Foresters or one of its subsidiaries.

In most states, Foresters agent for service of process is CT Corporation. In some U.S. states, the Department of Insurance is the designated agent for service.

This means that any legal process should not be served on an independent agency, appointed producer or manager. However, should any independent agency, appointed producer or manager receive service of any legal process naming Foresters or one of its subsidiaries as a party, please use the following procedure(s):

1. Immediately date stamp document(s).
2. Immediately fax a copy of the legal document(s) to Foresters Law, Compliance and Corporate Secretarial Department (LCCS) at (416) 429-0089.
3. Send the original document(s), including any envelopes, delivery receipts or courier slips, immediately to Foresters House, 789 Don Mills Road, Toronto, ON M3C 1T9 Canada, to the attention of Manager, Legal and Corporate Governance Support, LCCS.
