Foresters and Radiothons
Radiothons are a cooperative effort among Children's Miracle Network hospitals, ForestersTM, community-minded radio stations, and volunteers. The format includes patient stories, facts and interviews to involve listeners and encourage them to call with a pledge to support their local children's hospital.
Foresters commitment to underwrite the Radiothon program allows 100% of raised funds to go to local participating hospitals. That means much needed funds stay locally to fund life-saving equipment, research, and disease and injury prevention, education and outreach programs. In 2007 alone, the Radiothon program raised $52 million US for children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.
Foresters also supports Radiothon events locally in many communities through local sponsorships with radio stations, donations to hospitals, and volunteering support.
