Maple Leaf East Regional Council

2010 Volunteer of the Year

We are so very grateful to all the wonderful and hard working volunteers we have in our region. It makes it all the more difficult to present an individual award when all are so deserving.

Numerous Branches submitted worthy candidates for “Volunteer of the Year”, which made our task very hard. After reading each nominee’s biography, Gladys Webber, Terry Partridge and I had the difficult task of narrowing the field down to the one finalist.

I’m very pleased to announce that Joan Reese of Limestone Branch in Kingston, Ontario is our first winner of the “Volunteer of the Year” award for our new Maple Leaf East region.

We would like to thank each Branch who submitted their volunteer, and hope to continue this honourable program to recognize our members who give so much of themselves to make our Branch activities possible, and lend a helping hand in their communities.

On behalf of the officers of our region, I thank you for your participation and congratulate every single one of our volunteers.

Christiana Carter, Regional Council Vice President
