Purpose of Role:
The Analyst will support the overall execution of system and process enhancements and the governance of Foresters Project Portfolio. Leveraging a deep understanding of Foresters portfolio data, the Analyst will maintain project and enhancement databases and provide learnings towards process and execution optimization. Using strong communication and leadership skills, the Analyst will also provide high-level requirements elicitation support to Foresters business community.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Coordinating the overall execution of Foresters system and process enhancements portfolio: request collection and sign-off, communication and tracking
- Supporting the ongoing management of Foresters project portfolio: data collection and analysis
- Working with business users to elicit high-level business requirements for projects and enhancements
- Working with business users to elicit high-level business requirements for projects and enhancements
- Supporting Foresters governance process by assisting with the collection of project opportunity documents: updating templates; providing end-user support; summarizing data for analysis
- Maintaining Foresters Project Portfolio Management tool and database
- Presenting lessons learned and best practices based on historical data and industry research
- Assisting with the preparation of communication materials and training sessions, as required
Key Qualifications/Competencies:
- A university degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst, Project Coordinator or Project Leader experience
- Previous experience or knowledge of life insurance or IT industry
- Superior analytical/problem solving and critical thinking abilities
- Project leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Creative, independent thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under constantly changing conditions and tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer relations and support service skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and interact efficiently with business users
- Advanced computer skills with superior knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Project); MS Access knowledge would be an asset
