Reporting Suspected Unethical and Fraudulent Activity

ForestersTM takes seriously its obligation to conduct business in a legal and ethical manner. This ranges from protecting our customers from increased costs associated with fraudulent activities to conducting ourselves in a manner that enhances public trust and confidence in Foresters and the financial services industry.

No company is immune from the risk of unethical conduct or fraudulent activity. It is our responsibility to take appropriate action when these situations are suspected or may occur. Our organization does not tolerate, and will take action against unethical conduct or fraud, whether perpetrated by employees, vendors or others. Areas of concern include:
 

  • Ethics and Compliance issues – includes breaches of Foresters Code of Ethics or Volunteer Code of Ethics, conflicts of interest, misrepresentation, money laundering, bribery, privacy concerns, misconduct
  • Fraud – includes theft, forgery, embezzlement, identity theft, misuse of Foresters assets, falsification of financial and other records or reports

Foresters Reporting Options

If you are a certificate holder and have concerns about how your certificate is being serviced, please contact Foresters Member Service Center at 1 800 828 1540.

Suspected unethical or fraudulent activity may be reported using Foresters normal channels and by identifying yourself in order to facilitate any investigation. Foresters has a longstanding policy of protecting those who report suspected unethical or fraudulent activity in good faith from retaliation. Please contact one of the following:

  1. A Human Resources representative at Foresters House, Toronto
    • 416 429 3000, extension 4247, and ask for a Human Resources Consultant or Manager, or
    • toll free at 1 888 683 7393, or
    • electronic mail at humanresources@foresters.com
  1. A member of the Law, Compliance, or Internal Audit departments within Foresters House, Toronto
    • 416 429 3000, ask for a representative of any of the above-named departments
  1. A member of the Board of Directors or a Chairman/Chairwoman of a specific Board Committee (for example, the Chairman of the Conduct Review and Governance Committee or the Chairman of the Inspection and Audit Committee) 416 429 3000, ask for the General Counsel and Executive Secretary, extension 4465

Independent Reporting Service

If you are uncertain or uncomfortable about addressing your concerns through normal channels, Foresters has retained Global Compliance Services to provide an independent and anonymous forum for individuals to report instances of unethical conduct or fraudulent activity relating to Foresters worldwide operations.
