Suanne Nielsen, CHRP, FLMI, FIC
Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
Suanne Nielsen was appointed Chief Administrative Officer in May 2008. In this capacity, Suanne is responsible for member-facing insurance shared services functions, including in force administration, claims, payment and support services, and the member service center, as well as corporate human resources and employee communications. Suanne joined ForestersTM in 1996 and was appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Employee Communications in March 1998.
Suanne has nearly 25 years of experience in human resources and general management roles in the life insurance industry in Canada, following five years of general business management roles in the United States. Suanne is also fully accredited as a Fellow of the Life Management Institute and as a Fraternal Insurance Counselor, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to life insurance industry education.
Suanne has a strong background of community involvement, including having served as Board Chair with the United Way of Burlington, Hamilton-Wentworth and leadership of fund raising activities for many worthy organizations. She is often requested as a guest speaker in her field on topics related to the role human resources and employee communications functions can play in leading change in organizations.
