Peter Sweers
Senior Vice President & Chief Operations and Information Officer
Peter Sweers was appointed SVP & Chief Operations and Information Officer in February 2010 with responsibility for Insurance Operations, Technology and Architecture, IT Strategy and Governance, and Business Process Redesign.
Peter Sweers joined ForestersTM in May 2008 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer and continues to lead a team of IT professionals with the added mandate of leading ForestersTM end-to-end insurance operations in North America.
Prior to joining Foresters, Peter was Senior Vice President, Banking and Finance at Satyam Computer Services Limited, where he was responsible for the global deployment of technical support, application development and outsourcing services to some of the world’s largest banks. Previously, Peter held two Senior Vice President roles at the Bank of Nova Scotia where he developed a comprehensive IT strategy, integrated channel and client management solutions. He has also held senior positions at ONX Incorporated, NCR Canada and Datawest Solutions during his career.
With a long-standing commitment to community, Peter currently serves on the Board of York Regional Community Safety Village.
