Peter Sweers
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Peter Sweers

Peter Sweers joined ForestersTM in May 2008 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In this capacity, Peter leads a team of IT professionals and has responsibility for developing and implementing IT strategy, architecture and best practices. In this role Peter will also provide oversight for applications development and support for production systems and Networks. He is also responsible for vendor management and strategic partnering.

Prior to joining Foresters, Peter was Senior Vice President, Head of Global Banking at Satyam Computer Services Limited, where he was responsible for the global deployment of application development and outsourcing services to some of the world’s largest banks. Previously, Peter held two Senior Vice President roles at the Bank of Nova Scotia where he developed a comprehensive IT strategy, integrated channel and client management solutions. He has also held senior positions at ONX Incorporated, NCR Canada and Datawest Solutions during his career.

With a long-standing commitment to community, Peter currently serves on the Board of York Regional Community Safety Village.
