Tony Poole

Tony Poole was appointed President, Canada Division in April 2008 when Unity Life became a wholly owned subsidiary of Foresters. With over 30 years of diverse experience in progressively senior executive, sales, marketing and general management positions in the insurance industry, Tony joined Unity Life of Canada in 2001 as Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing. He was appointed President in 2005 and CEO in 2007. Tony continues to hold the title, President and CEO, Unity Life of Canada, a Foresters Company.

Tony quickly established a reputation as an effective results oriented business leader achieving record profits, acquiring significant blocks of business and taking the company to over $500 million in assets in a few short years. In 2008, Unity Life completed Canada’s first sponsored demutualization with Foresters under his leadership.

Previously, Tony held progressively senior positions with Mutual of Omaha and Citadel Assurance. During his tenure at these organizations, he held executive roles in sales and marketing, administration, underwriting, information systems and operations.

Tony is a graduate with a BAA degree from Ryerson University in Toronto. He volunteers as a celebrity clown at the annual Toronto Santa Claus Parade and has contributed to local and national charities over the years.
