Karen was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Transamerica Life Canada/AEGON Canada for 13 years before retiring in 2005. She has been involved in a number of professional associations, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and the Institute of Corporate Directors. Karen currently serves on the Board of Hope Air, The Economical Insurance Group, TBay Tel, Counsel Group of Funds, Mackenzie Financial and Green Shield Canada. She has also served on the Boards of Children's Aid Foundation, Transamerica Life and AEGON Fund Management. She is involved in a number of youth-centred volunteer activities. Karen lives in Toronto, Ontario, and has two children.
