John spent 33 years at Zurich Kemper Life Insurance Companies in a number of roles, including 13 years as CEO and Chair, before retiring in 2000. He brings substantial board experience to Foresters, sitting on the Boards of Trustmark Insurance, Kemper Corporation and Kemper Financial Services. John's community involvement includes Board appointments with United Way of Lake County, Omni Youth Services, St. John's Episcopal Church and the University of the South. He lives in Arlington Heights, Illinois, with his wife Darlene. They have two children and two grandchildren.
