Chris has had a distinguished career in the Canadian life insurance industry, serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Empire Life and, prior to that, holding various actuarial positions at Mercantile and General Reinsurance and Dominion of Canada General Insurance. His 40-year career as an actuary has included several Board appointments with insurance companies and the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association. His community involvement includes Board appointments with University Hospitals of Kingston Foundation, Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston Chamber of Commerce, Kingston Symphony Association and Community Foundation of Greater Kingston. He has been a Foresters Board member since 2005. Chris lives in Kingston, Ontario, with his wife, Marie. They have four children and 12 grandchildren.
