W. Ross Walker

Ross Walker has been a member of ForestersTM Board of
Directors since 1997, and serves as Chairman of the Inspection and Audit
Committee. He is also a member of the Board’s Investment and Transition
Committees. A chartered accountant by profession, Ross joined Peat Marwick
Chartered Accountants in Calgary, Alberta, in 1956, becoming a partner in
1964. He was managing partner of the firm’s offices in Ottawa and Toronto
and specialized in financial institutions and real estate companies. In
1984, Ross was elected Senior Partner and CEO of Peat Marwick and Peat
Marwick Consulting Group, and was elected Chairman and Chief Executive of
KPMG Peat Marwick Thorne in 1989. In 1993, Ross was appointed Executive
Partner of KPMG International in Amsterdam until his retirement in 1996.
In addition to Foresters, Ross is currently Chairman of the Board of Sceptre
Investment Council Ltd. and a Director of ING Bank of Canada. He is also
Chairman of the University of Waterloo School of Accountancy Campaign,
Treasurer and Trustee of Royal Canadian Academy of Arts Trust and Director
and Treasurer of the Rideau Lakes Environmental Foundation. He is past
President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, Past
Chairman of the Board of the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry and Past
Chairman of the Board of the Ottawa General Hospital.
Ross and his wife Audrey have four children and live in Ontario, Canada. |
