Louise L. McCormick

Louise McCormick has had a successful 25-year career at Aetna Inc., one
of the major public insurance companies in the U.S. life and casualty
industry, with a strong record of achievement in operations, finance,
information technology and legal. She joined Aetna in 1975, retiring in
2000. As Vice President, Head of Project 2000, she designed, staffed and led
the company’s overall Y2K effort to a successful completion. Her other vice
presidential positions at Aetna included: Strategy, Finance and
Administration (1996-1997); Property/Casualty Claim (1995-1996); Acting
Chief Financial Officer; Head of Corporate Planning; and Head of Financial
Reporting and Analysis. From 1975 to 1988 she held various legal positions,
advancing to Securities Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Louise is
currently a member and Vice Chair of the University of Hartford’s Board of
Regents and is a Trustee and President of The Hartford Art School.
Previously, she was a member of the university’s Business School Advisory
Board (1989-1993). In addition, she is also Director of Duncaster, Inc., a
continuing care retirement community serving 300 residents. Louise served
as Director of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association from
1999-2000, was Chair of Aetna’s United Way Campaign in 1999, and was a
Trustee and Chair of The McAuley Senior Assisted Living Community from
1990-1996. She continues to volunteer at the Connecticut Humane Society.
