Dave spent his 36-year business career as an actuary in the life insurance industry, retiring from Great-West Life and London Life in 2001, after holding a variety of management positions, including Senior Vice President and Actuary and was an executive officer of both companies. He played an active role within the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Dave's volunteer work includes serving on the Boards of a variety of associations and working on the fundraising campaigns for the United Way and Kinsmen Reh-Fit Center. He has been a member of the Foresters Board since 2005 and is a Director of Unity Life of Canada. Dave lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with his wife Anne. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
