Foresters and Children’s Miracle Network Celebrate 20-Year Partnership through Facebook Campaign
Facebook Promotion Adds 21,000 to Children’s Miracle Network Fan Page and Over 5,000 to Foresters Fan Page During One-Month Campaign
SALT LAKE CITY (March 2, 2010) – To educate the online community about their joint commitment to children's health, ForestersTM and Children's Miracle Network conducted a one-month promotion to add fans to both their Facebook pages. Foresters, a life insurance provider that champions the well-being of families, has supported Children's Miracle Network for the past 20 years.
Children's Miracle Network added more than 21,000 fans to its Facebook community while Foresters launched their Facebook page on February 1 and ended the month with more than 5,000 fans. During February, Foresters pledged to allocate $20 to Children's Miracle Network for every person that became a fan of either Children's Miracle Network's or Foresters Facebook pages (up to $350,000). Facebook ads were used to raise awareness of the promotion, generating more than 5 million impressions during the campaign. The campaign was also promoted through Facebook and Twitter.
"Children's Miracle Network hospitals across North America treat approximately 17 million children every year, so we know there are literally millions of lives that have been impacted by our hospitals and potentially millions of Facebook fans," said Craig Sorensen, chief marketing officer, Children's Miracle Network. "It's important for us to raise awareness of our cause in order to raise as much money as possible for the hospitals in our network. This promotion with Foresters was another vehicle for us to raise awareness and encourage support of children's hospitals."
The allocation from the Facebook promotion will be included in Foresters support of Children's Miracle Network's Radiothon program. Foresters will provide more than $6 million over the next four years to underwrite the costs of the Radiothon program, ensuring all dollars raised during Radiothon remain with the local hospitals. Foresters became the founding sponsor of Radiothon in 1998. Since that time, $370 million has been raised through the Children's Miracle Network Radiothon program to ensure all children have access to the quality specialized health care they deserve.
"Foresters is proud to celebrate our 20-year commitment to supporting children's health through our continuing partnership with Children's Miracle Network," said George Mohacsi, president and CEO, Foresters, and an active member of Children's Miracle Network's Board of Governors. "Children's health is one of the cornerstones of our organization's purpose which is to enhance the well-being of families."
The Facebook promotion came shortly after another online campaign from Foresters and Children's Miracle Network, The Search for North America's Most Caring Radio Station. The online promotion named Y107 in Columbia, Miss. as North America's Most Caring Radio Station. The radio station will receive $50,000 from Foresters to put toward its 2010 Radiothon total, which will benefit MU Children's Hospital, a Children's Miracle Network hospital.
