Marketing Specialist, Community Partner Management
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role has been created to help maximize the impact of Foresters community partnerships.
The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for contributing to the growth, management and assessment of Foresters international charitable partnerships.
Successful execution of this role will result in:
- Increased member awareness of and volunteer engagement with Foresters community partners;
- Larger community impact through our partners, specifically around Foresters purpose of enhancing the well-being of families and communities;
- A greater number of partner-based opportunities for brand awareness and sales engagement.
Because this role will require some North American travel, applicants must have a valid passport.
Areas of Accountability
- Leveraging opportunity development, including the development of new programs and tactics to support member volunteerism, brand awareness, sales engagement and other priorities.
- Partnership relationship management, including day-to-day execution of contracts and liaising / problem solving with key stakeholders to achieve Foresters objectives.
- Collaborating to develop volunteer programs and tactics to involve key member segments in Foresters volunteer opportunities. Duties include the creation of project plans and proposals, best practices research, industry trends analysis and position papers.
- Marketing community and member involvement programs as a key element of Foresters value proposition. Marketing responsibilities include creating communications plans, writing project briefs and occasional copywriting.
- Project management duties including: timelines and scheduling, stakeholder management, legal and compliance review, etc.
- General administrative work and other duties as required.
Key Qualifications
- The successful applicant will possess knowledge of, passion for and on-the-job experience with corporate community investment and volunteer engagement
- Candidates should have a post-secondary education in business or another related field, with 3-5 years of related experience in marketing and program development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a particular strength around tact and diplomacy. Experience working with a variety of stakeholders including senior executives, corporate partners and out-of-office staff would be ideal.
- Good understanding of program development theories and best practices, including objective setting, audience identification, message development and measurement.
- Customer focused, with experience utilizing the “what’s in it for me?” approach to marketing communications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; ability to set timelines and project progression; flexibility to adapt to emerging issues in a changing environment.
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web to produce plans, reports and presentations. Creation of ‘on demand’ volunteer programming will require comfort and familiarity with best practices around web portal development.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with experience writing program plans / outlines, key messages and marketing copy.
- Confident and enthusiastic team player with a self-directed approach and a willingness to take on new creative challenges.
